The Company manufactures newsprint from waste paper, which is environment-friendly and gives a competitive edge in the face of a growing scarcity in virgin fibre, a major concern among India's paper players. Set up in 2006, Emami Agrotech Limited (Formerly Emami Biotech Ltd) is the Rs 4500 cr edible oil & biodiesel Company of the Rs 10,000 cr Emami Group of Companies based in Kolkata, India. Emami Agrotech Ltd., the only biodiesel manufacturer in Eastern India, is the largest exporter of biodiesel to Europe from India. It is also the largest edible oil refinery in the Eastern India & 3rd largest in the country. Launched in 2010, Emami Healthy & Tasty, one of the most premium and popular names in the industry of edible oil is manufactured and marketed by Emami Agrotech Ltd. The Group is setting up a 4 MTPA Cement Plant in Chhattisgarh with split grinding units in West Bengal and Odisha.
Emami Power has commissioned a 10 MW power grid connected solar pv power plant at Charnaka, Gujarat in 2012. The Company has been awarded its 1st Grid connected solar pv power plant project of 10 MWp by Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) in the state of Karnataka. The company plans to build up a capacity of 500 MWp solar pv power plants in India over a period of 3 years.
